Welcome to the 3 vicars!

Welcome to Christ Church, North Shields. And welcome to not one, but three new vicars who have recently joined us.

At Christ Church, everyone is welcome, and you can be yourself here. On a Sunday it’s a bunch of ordinary people who come together at different services and events to worship God and learn more about what it means to be a Christian Monday – Saturday. There’s something for everyone, whoever you are – from quiet communion services to family worship and kids activities.

Check out our Mission Statement to learn more about us, or even better, come along to one of our many services throughout the week.

Below are some of the amazing photos taken at the induction service for Glyn, Dorothy and Peter.

My name is Glyn Evans and I was born in Dartford Kent. As you can tell from my name I have some Welsh roots! I trained as a vicar in Birmingham then moved to the North East thirty years ago. Before I came to North Shields I was the vicar of St. Andrews in Newcastle and the City Centre Chaplain. I am a Chaplain to Deaf people. I am married and have two grown up children. I’m sure there is lots more to tell you and share with you, which I look forward to doing.

My name is Dorothy Robinson, I was born in north Northumberland, moving to Tyneside in the 1970’s. I trained for ordination at Cranmer Hall, St John’s College, Durham. For the past ten years I have been Associate Priest at Tynemouth Priory, Church of the Holy Saviour. I also work as a Hospital Chaplain a few hours a week with Northumbria NHS Chaplaincy Team. I am married and have two grown up children. It is a privilege to be alongside you in the sharing of joys and sorrows.
